STAR Education is a charitable 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to offering extended educational, recreational, and enrichment programs, supporting and enhancing school curricula, and expanding young people's cultural base through innovative, quality programs offered by exceptional instructors.
 
STAR Nova
 
STAR Nova provides individual enrichment classes that occur once a week, over a 6-8 week Nova session.  Nova offers four sessions throughout the year, offering an individualized experience tailored to each student's specific needs and interests. The wide range of Nova classes includes such offerings as musical theater, gymnastics, media arts, hip-hop dance, soccer, culinary arts, and more!

Afterschool Care at CDA

Beyond The Bell

Afterschool care is available, free of charge, through LAUSD’s Beyond the Bell Program. Please check the main office for forms and instructions on how to register your child for this program. For more information, you can visit: https://btb.lausd.org/.

 

UCLA Youth Program 

Program Mission: In collaboration with community partners, UCLA (Beyond the Bell) ensures that all children and youth in the LAUSD have free access to high quality, safe, and supervised education, enrichment, and recreation programs that engage and inspire learning and achievement beyond the regular school day.

Program Schedule: UCLA Community Programs offers free activities and meals Monday through Friday to all enrolled participants at Couer d'Alene Avenue. All students will participate in activities that support their skill development through a variety of activities that incorporate language, social emotional, motor, cognitive skills and more. We partner with organizations to offer activities that center around Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) activities. 

Steps to enroll:
  1. Submit a completed UCLA Packet to UCLA Site Coordinator or CDA Main Office
  2. Receive a call/email from UCLA Site Coordinator with enrollment confirmation/information
  3. Program personal picks up student on first day of program from their classroom
 
Location: CDA, Room 16
Days of Operation: Monday - Friday
Hours of Operation: Dismissal - 6:00pm
