Who We Are

Friends of CDA is an organization of dedicated parents and guardians committed to supporting the academic achievement and enrichment of all  students at Coeur d’Alene Elementary School. Every parent and guardian of a student enrolled at Coeur d’Alene Elementary School is automatically a member of Friends of Coeur d’Alene Booster Club.
 
Through our fundraisers, we finance essential programs, activities, and personnel that are not funded by LAUSD. The funds we raise are crucial in providing art, music, physical education, library resources, and instructional aides for our students.
 
We convene once a month, either in person and/or on Zoom, to organize fundraising events, review our budget, and discuss other significant matters impacting our school community.
 
Friends of Coeur d’Alene is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. All donations made to Friends of Coeur d’Alene are tax-deductible.

What We Fund

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS AT WORK: EVERY CENT RAISED GOES BACK TO CDA

WHAT IS THE EDUCATION ENRICHMENT FUND AND WHY SHOULD YOU CONTRIBUTE?
 
The Education Enrichment Fund is the Friends of CDA’s (also known as the booster club) annual direct giving fund. The money raised benefits the entire CDA community by supporting programs that LAUSD does not fund.
 
Examples of these programs include Gardening, Visual Arts, Music, PE, a full-time library, extra TA/IA support, classroom technology, and more. Without sufficient fundraising, we won't be able to maintain these programs in the following year.
 
WHO DECIDES HOW TO ALLOCATE THE FUNDS?
 
You. Me. All of us. Come to the monthly Booster Club meetings, also known as CDA Parents’ Meetings, to have your say. (P.S. You’re already a member of the Booster Club).

HOW MUCH SHOULD YOU CONTRIBUTE?
To hit the annual goal, we need 100% participation

While this seems like a big ask, our suggested amount is less than many other comparable LAUSD schools
 
  • We also understand that not everyone is in the same position financially. Even if you can’t give the full ask, please give what you can. Our goal is to have all families participate.
  • We also offer additional ways to contribute
    • Check if your company has a matching gift program to double your donation. 
    • Become an Education Enrichment Fund Angel by contributing an additional $500 to “sponsor” those CDA families who may not be able to donate financially. Your Angel contribution allows us to achieve our goal of 100% school participation. Angel Funders will also be recognized for their contributions to the CDA community.

All contributions are tax-deductible and can be made in one lump sum or can be broken into smaller increments.
When we hit 100% participation, there will be a school-wide celebration to remember
 
You may make your donation here via credit card or by check. Checks should be made payable to “Friends of CDA”, and posted in the Booster Club Box (within the Main Office). Remember to note “Enrichment Fund” and your children’s name(s) and teacher(s). Donations are tax-deductible and can be made in one lump sum or broken into incremental payments.
 
Please help us keep these enriching programs and vital staff aides for all our children! Every dollar counts!
