Friends of CDA

Who We Are

We are a group of parents/guardians dedicated to supporting the academic achievement and enrichment of the students at Coeur d’ Alene Elementary School. All parents/guardians of students enrolled at Coeur d’ Alene Elementary School are members of Friends of Coeur d’ Alene.

Through our fundraisers, we pay for important programs, activities, and personnel not funded by LAUSD. The money we raise helps pay for art, music, physical education, our library, and instructional aides. We meet the first Wednesday of every month to organize fundraisers, review budget, and discuss other important topics impacting our school.  Friends of Coeur d’ Alene is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

All donations made to Friends of Coeur d’ Alene are tax-deductible.

What We Fund

YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS AT WORK.  EVERY CENT RAISED GOES BACK TO CDA

WHAT IS THE COMMUNITY FUND AND WHY SHOULD YOU CONTRIBUTE?

The Community Fund is the Friends of CDA’s (aka the booster club) annual direct giving fund

  • The monies raised go to the benefit of the entire CDA community
  • Contributions are used to help pay for programs LAUSD doesn’t. Examples include Gardening, Visual Arts, Music, PE, Full-time library, extra TA/IA support, technology in the classroom, and more
  • If we don’t raise enough money, then we can’t afford to have these programs the following year

**See the budget table below to understand what your contribution pays for.

WHO DECIDES HOW TO ALLOCATE THE FUNDS?

You. Me. All of us.  Come to the monthly Booster Club aka CDA Parents’ Meetings to have your say. (P.S. You’re already a member of the Booster Club).

HOW MUCH SHOULD WE CONTRIBUTE?

To hit the annual goal, we need 100% participation

  • Contributions of $1250 per child is the suggested amount.
  • Contributions of $1500 per child will receive ¼ page ad in the yearbook and additional acknowledgments and event opportunities.
  • Contributions of $2000 per child will receive ½ page in the yearbook, exclusive Community Fund merch for the family, and additional acknowledgments and event opportunities.
  • Contributions of $2500 per child or more will receive ½ page in the yearbook, recognition within the yearbook as a major donor, exclusive Community Fund merch for the family, recognition as a major donor on the school banner, additional acknowledgments, and event opportunities.

** There will be additional activities and events for those who donate early. Look for more information and announcements**

While this seems like a big ask, our suggested amount is less than many other comparable LAUSD schools

  • We also understand that not everyone is in the same position financially. Even if you can’t give the full ask, please give what you can. Our goal is to have all families participate.
  • We also offer additional ways to contribute
    • Become a Community Fund Angel by contributing an additional $500 to “sponsor” those CDA families that may not be able to donate financially. Your Angel contribution allows us to achieve our goal of 100% school participation. Community Fund Angels will also be recognized for their contributions to the CDA community.

All contributions are tax-deductible and can be made in one lump sum or can be broken into smaller increments.

When we hit 100% participation, there will be a school-wide celebration to remember

You may make your donation here via credit card or by check. Checks should be made payable to “Friends of CDA”, and posted in the Booster Club Box (within the Main Office). Remember to note “Community Fund” and your children’s name(s) and teacher(s). Donations are tax-deductible and can be made in one lump sum or broken into incremental payments.

Please help us keep these enriching programs and vital staff aides for all our children! Every dollar counts!
